RECIPE NOTE:
Palak Keerai known as Spinach in English is a leafy green Flowering plant. The leaf part of the plant is edible . It contains a lot of Nurients.
It is rich in Iron,Calcium and Vit-K.This can be taken as soups or can be added along with chicken gravy, mutton gravy and so on. For vegetarians it can added along with Mushroom and Paneer.
In this recipe i have used mushroom. Mushroom are a very good substitute for people who try avoiding Meat. Mushrooms along with Palak is a very good combination, a healthy combination as well.

BRIEF RECIPE:
In a pan - Add Water - Add cleaned Spinach - Boil - drain - Make Paste- In Pan - Add Onion - Tomato- Cashews - Ginger - Garlic - Red Chillies - Saute - Make paste - In Kadai - Add oil - Whole Garam Masala - Masala paste - Salt - Chilli Powder - Turmeric powder - Garam masala - Add water - Boil - Add Palak paste - boil - Add cream - Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:

  • 1 cup Palak( roughly chopped )
  • 1 cup Mushroom ( Cut into 4)
  • 1 large Onion ( roughly chopped)
  • 1 large tomato ( roughly chopped )
  • 1/2 inch Ginger
  • 5-6 cloves Garlic
  • 3 Red chilles
  • 1 tbspn Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tspn Turmeric powder
  • 2 tspn garam masala
  • 3 tbspn Oil
  • Whole garam masala
  • 3 tbspn Cream
  • 4-5 cashew nuts
  • Salt as per taste
  • 2 cups Water


INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a Pan, Add water and add in the Palak to it, add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil.
  2. Once the palak is reduced and boiled well. Remove it and blend it to a smooth paste.
  3. Now in the same pan add in Oil.
  4. Once the oil is heated up add in Onion, Ginger and Garlic.
  5. Once they turn translucent,add in the tomatoes and Red chillies.
  6. Wait till the Tomatoes are mushy.Add in Cashew nuts.  
  7. Now remove it and make it a smooth paste.
  8. Take a kadai, add in Oil , add in the whole garam masala once the oil is heated.
  9. Now add in the blend, Onion tomato paste.
  10. Add in Chilli Powder, Turmeric powder, Garam masala and salt.
  11. Cook it until the oil seperates.
  12. Add in the Palak paste to it, add water and adjust the consistency.
  13. Let it cook for about 2-3 mins.
  14. Add in the cream and put off the stove.


Serve it hot with Chappathi, idly, dosa or even rice.
